Our Team
Project EarthRise developed out of the shared experience between public school educators, engineers, administrators, energy consultants and activists who created the first solar school district in California (Pleasanton Unified School District). This experiences spanned six years and has led to recognition at state, national and international levels. Prior to creating the solar school district, they helped to create the Go Green Initiative (GGI) in 2002. Since then, GGI has become “The largest and fastest growing environmental education program in the world.” (GGI press release, June 2008). Our flagship school, Walnut Grove received international recognition in October 2008 when it was named “School of the Year” at the 4th Annual International Earth Summit (Syracuse, NY).
