The founders of Project EarthRise worked with the Pleasanton School district to implement a district wide Power Purchase Agreement coupled with a wide variety of campus sustainability programs which have been groundbreaking. For example:
1) The founders of Project EarthRise Helped to make Pleasanton School District Californias first solar school district.
2) The creation of of California's first solar school district leadt to an even more historical development, the SPPA (Solar Power Purchase Agreement).
3) The Pleasanton SPPA (Cited over 7,000 times on the internet) allows school districts to save money, go green and reduce their carbon footprints - all for free.
4) Pleasanton Unified School District is home of the Go Green Initiative, one of the worlds largest and fastest growing environmental education organizations, with over 1.5 million members world wide.
5) The Go Green Initiative began on the campus of Walnut Grove Elementary School with the support of Principal Bill Radulovich (Founder and Executive Director of Project Earthrise)
6) Bill Radulovich (Founder of EarthRise) recieved the Flex Your Power Award of behalf of Pleasanton School District (The only school district to recieve this award) in 2008.
7) Walnut Grove Elementary School was named "School of the Year" at the 4th International Earth Summit in New York in 2008.
8) Pleasanton School District was selected by Nobel Prize co-recipient Dr. Woodrow Clark II to be the singular educational case study in his graduate level text book "Sustainable Communities" - a book that draws upon 18 international authoritiesof forms of sustainability.
9) Dr. Clark asked Bill Radulovich (EarthRise Executive Director) to write the definitive chapter in "Sustainable Communities" on the role of K-12 education on creating a sustainable planet.
